A night under the stars
The sky over the village is so clear that the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye every clear night. In August we watch the Perseids.
The village is far from cities and their lights, so the sky above Rtanj is truly dark. Every clear night the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye from one edge of the horizon to the other, with the peak of Rtanj outlined below it like a black pyramid.
We lie on mats on the meadow and look up. With the village crew you learn to spot constellations, planets and satellites, and every year in mid-August we watch the Perseid meteor shower from the village, with shooting stars sometimes several a minute.
The sky comes with every stay in the village. For groups, families and teams we arrange a guided session on request.
