What Vrelo is
Vrelo is an ancient spring at the foot of Rtanj, above the village, in the municipality of Boljevac. It is marked by a monument shaped like a three-sided pyramid, echoing the peak above it, so many people call it the stone pyramid.
The legend of the energy
Local tradition says people have come to Vrelo since ancient times to recharge. Legend has it that Roman legionaries from the nearby imperial palace of Felix Romuliana were treated here and that their wounds healed faster. The Boljevac tourist board describes Vrelo as an energy field and suggests staying about twenty minutes, two days in a row.
Whether the energy can be measured is for you to decide. What is certain: the place is quiet, surrounded by forest and a spring, and good for a few minutes of calm before or after the summit.
